He reconstructed this scene by attaching the candles to the branches of the Christmas tree in the house. By the 11th century, the Christmas tree was also given the symbol of a heavenly tree. This explains why people are hanging up red apple trees, to evoke Adam and Eve's forbidden fruit. By the 14th century, the Christmas tree was attached to a star at the top of the tree. This is the symbol of Bethlehem star in the sky when the baby was born.
