At the New York Motor Show in 1964, Ford Motor introduced the first Ford Mustang and it was launched on April 17, 1964. When it was born, Ford Motor leaders did not appreciate or expect much of this brand, but the main purpose was only to compete with Chevrolet's Corvair. However, up to 22,000 Mustangs have been ordered within 24 hours of launch, for $ 2,368 per vehicle. Within a year, 417,000 units were sold to the market, enough to see the appeal of this model. Sales of Mustang in the home market have shown signs of decline in recent years. However, the attraction of this model is continuing to spread in the international market. In the past year, Ford sold only about 81,000 Mustang cars, accounting for 0.5% market share of the North American auto market. Since Ford started exporting Mustangs in 2015, this model has become the world's best-selling sports car brand. With this trend, market analysts think that Ford's strategy in the future will be to continue to promote its brand of charismatic cars as a symbol of American culture.
